This toy is currently going for $85 on amazon. Waaaay too much. FP's own website says $29.99. Probably still too much.
This toy basically makes some noise when the mouth opens or the back opens. It comes with these blocks which are kind of awkward b/c they don't stay stacked together well.
Its got a few good things going for it.
Positives:
Little hands can stack the blocks well b/c they latch easily (just don't stay that way)
It makes sound
It has storage for the blocks - but only 4 of them - actually that's probably just the right number for this age group. I wouldn't buy more. If your kid needs more then it's lego time.
Negatives:
This toy is just plain weird. Why a crocodile? Why would a crocodile want blocks stacked on it? Why doe a crocodile's back open up? Nothing about this makes any real world sense.
The little blocks have little things inside them. That's kind of neat but the age range this is intended for probably won't even notice it. It's a detail on a toy when infant/toddlers are looking at big concepts.
So its kind of a novel toy, but 30 bucks? If i'm going to spend that kind of money it had better be an AWESOME toy. Frankly this toy annoys me just for the space it takes up - there are so many OTHER toys out there that are better.
The noise - the little crocodile noises are kind of cute, but i kind of hate the sound of the blocks inside the crocodile when they are stored. Kind of like "clunkety clunk clunk" really loud. I dread touching this thing if my son is asleep.
The blocks fit inside, but they don't lock inside. If the toy tips over, the blocks go everywhere. If you were planning on throwing this in a toybox forget it. It needs to be stored on a shelf. That in itself is a bummer.
Yeah, it gets good marks from a kids perspective, but as the parent i kind of don't really like it a lot.
If I saw it at a garage sale I might get it, if it was $5 or less.
